Where to buy sweets by the kilo

You can buy sweets by the kilo at sweeties.net. Every sweet is sold in 100 g steps, so a kilo is simply ten steps: all of one sweet, or a mix of up to ten.

How a kilo order works

• Choose your sweets. Add each one by the 100 g, and watch your bag fill up and grow.
• Watch the milestones. As the mix passes weight milestones, such as 1 kg and 2 kg, the shop shows the delivery price for that weight.
• Delivery. Orders up to 2 kg cost £3.99 to send, by Royal Mail 48. Heavier orders are priced at Royal Mail's own rates for the weight.
• Check the cards. Every sweet has a card that opens up to show its full ingredients and allergens, so check each one, especially when buying for a group: see pick and mix and allergies

Price per kilo

Each sweet has its own price per 100 g, so its price per kilo is ten times that. Loose sweets are sold by weight, and UK law says goods sold loose by weight must be weighed and priced in metric, with a unit price shown: see why is pick and mix sold by weight?

How far a kilo goes

A kilo is 1,000 g, about 2.2 lb. How many sweets that is depends on their size: Jelly Belly says a kilo holds 882 of its beans. Keeping a big bag fresh

A kilo or more may not all be eaten at once. Keep sweets sealed in an airtight container, somewhere cool and dry and out of the sun.
